Investigation of appetite, fat percentage and physical activity of infertile women referring to infertility centers in Tehran and factors affecting it in 2023

Abstract

Aims: Infertility is one of the most important crises in life. Lifestyle modification is one of the most important treatments for infertility and includes things such as maintaining fat percentage, physical activity, and appetite in the right range. The present study was conducted with the aim of determining the appetite, fat percentage and physical activity of infertile women referring to infertility centers in Tehran.

Methods: This is a cross-sectional descriptive analytical study that was conducted on 289 infertile women referring to infertility treatment centers in Tehran. The research samples were selected by cluster sampling method and completed the questionnaires of appetite and physical activity. A body analyzer was used to measure fat percentage. After collecting the data, the data were analyzed using Pearson's statistical tests, analysis of variance and independent t, considering the significance level of 0.05.

Results: The mean and standard deviation of fat percentage, appetite and physical activity in people with infertility were 41.32 ± 5.71, 69.29 ± 10.09 and 34.40 ± 15.71 respectively.
